What FAMA is all about
Located in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin and serving the area from Milwaukee to Appleton and Madison to Sheboygan, FAMA hosts Jam/Open Mic sessions and a concert series that features nationally touring folk/acoustic music acts. The Jam/Open Mic sessions are typically held on the second Sunday of each month at the Windhover Arts Center. FAMA's concert series runs from late fall to spring featuring such artists as Small Potatoes, LJ Booth, Johnsmith, Bill Staines, KG & The Ranger, Bill Camplin, Harmonious Wail, Jack Williams, and more. In addition to the concert series and Jam/Open Mic sessions, FAMA presents a weekend of music each fall at a local apple orchard during fall harvest time which gives FAMA members & special guests the opportunity to perform before a festive crowd.
The Fondy Acoustic Music Alliance was started by the enthusiasm generated by a couple "living room" jam sessions. It has grown into a vital part of the entertainment scene and plays an important role in the lives of the volunteers, listeners, and players in the Fond du Lac area.
